About

I'm mostly a self-taught artist whose first lessons came at my mother’s elbow. It wasn’t until much later in life that I pursued my art education in earnest through a wide range of study at UC Berkeley, College of Marin and SRJC.

Today I work primarily in graphite, watercolor and acrylic. My representational work is inspired by my surroundings, here in Sonoma County, and by my personal travels. I lean towards singular moments, looking for the light, lines and shadows that define our lives.

My abstract works I treat more as puzzles to be solved, or questions to be answered. In all instances I try to reveal the beauty in my subjects; from the rainbow of colors found in a Portuguese fish market, to the feeling I get when listening to a favorite jazz tune.

I invite you to take a look to see what inspires you.
